100 Days to go: ALBA MSPs to act as an independence safety net
Marking 100 days until the Scottish Parliament election, ALBA Party leader Kenny MacAskill said:
“A list vote for ALBA will guarantee a pro-independence majority and act as a catalyst for the independence cause in Parliament. After a decade of delay, deflection, and demotivation, the independence cause needs some new life injected into it.
“ALBA will present a cadre of candidates that reflects wider Scotland, from small business owners to healthcare professionals, teachers, and community organisers, as well as many who have a record of delivery in elected office.
“And with 100 days to go, I have a message to those who believe in John Swinney’s independence strategy. We must learn from the mistakes of the last decade. Use your second vote to elect ALBA MSPs to the Scottish Parliament who will act as an independence safety net.
"There must be a party in Holyrood that will hold the Scottish Government’s feet to the fire on delivering on their independence timetable. The Greens have shown they are not willing, or capable, of doing so, and we are well aware that the unionist parties simply want to talk independence and Scotland down.
“If independence voters use their list vote to back ALBA, we will lock out swathes of unionist MSPs, including many from Nigel Farage’s Reform, and deliver a Parliament that is serious about delivering independence.”
