ALBA TAKES STV TO “ELECTION COURT” OVER FOOTBALL SNUB
Ofcom set to hear challenge to broadcaster decision to delay election broadcast in case ‘too many people were to see it”
The ALBA PARTY have today asked for a special meeting of the Ofcom Election Committee to consider the scheduling of the ALBA PEB
Earlier this week the broadcaster informed ALBA that they refused to show their sole election broadcast this Friday before the match between Scotland and Germany. STV felt that would give an “unfair advantage” to ALBA as too many people would see it.
Now ALBA have responded by demanding a meeting of Ofcom’s Election Court to consider STV’s decision.
Party Leader former First Minister, Alex Salmond, said;
“STV are riding roughshod over fairness and accepted practice by sidelining our only broadcast. We have now taken them straight to the VAR referee.
"ALBA will not be silenced or intimidated by a Broadcaster whose main preoccupation seems to be sucking up to the political establishment.
"Scotland badly needs an independence party and that new force is ALBA”
