ALBA Appoints Former MSP to Key Role in Run up to the 2026 Holyrood Election
The Alba Party have today announced that they have appointed former Member of the Scottish Parliament Jim Eadie to the newly created post of Director of Strategy and Communications.
Mr Eadie comes to the Alba Party with 35 years experience in politics and public affairs having worked previously in Holyrood, Westminster and the European Parliament. He served as the MSP for Edinburgh Southern between 2011 and 2016.
He has held a number of senior roles including as Convenor of the Scottish Parliament's Infrastructure and Capital Investment committee. He was Scottish Director of a trade body, the housing policy lead for an older people's charity and most recently was employed as senior researcher and adviser to the two ALBA MPs at Westminster.
Mr Eadie will be responsible for developing the Alba Party's strategic plan going into the 2026 Holyrood Election and rolling out the Alba Party's communications across all media platforms.
Announcing his appointment following its endorsement at the meeting of the ALBA National Executive Committee (NEC) on Sunday 4 May Alba Party Chair Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh said:
"Alba is delighted to have recruited someone of Jim's calibre and experience. He brings a wealth of expertise to this senior role which will be invaluable as the Alba Party refines its offering to the Scottish people at the coming Holyrood election.

Commenting on his appointment Jim Eadie said:
