Alba Party highlight free school meal budget-Claus

SANTA Claus visited the Scottish Parliament this week as Alba Party’s Ash Regan MSP upped her campaign to secure free school meals for all primary school children.

The Alba Party Holyrood leader gave her Christmas letter to Santa stating that all she wanted for Christmas was free school meals for all Scottish primary school children.

Ash Regan previously welcomed the Scottish Government’s draft budget as a “step in the right direction”. The SNP Government have so far answered Alba Party’s call to mitigate the Labour UK Government’s cut to winter fuel payments by announcing a new Scottish winter fuel payment for next year. However, the Alba Party Holyrood leader also wants to see the Scottish Government fund the roll out of free school meals for all Primary School children to secure her vote in the final budget that will come before Parliament early next year.

Commenting Alba Party Holyrood leader Ash Regan said:

"It was nice to bring a bit of festive cheer to the Scottish Parliament with our special visit from Father Christmas. However, there is a serious point and that’s why I want to keep in focus the need for free school meals to be rolled out for all primary school children. If the Scottish Government agree to include this in their final budget then I think it would be completely unimaginable for Labour and the Tories to vote against a budget that delivers the new universal winter fuel payment Alba Party requested and delivers free school meals for every primary school child in Scotland."
