Alba Party Record Best Ever Election Result

McEleny: “Current support will deliver Holyrood success”

ALBA Party have today delivered it's highest ever election result.

The results of the Gourock by-election saw the Alba Party help suppress the rise of Reform UK in Scotland, with Nigel Farage’s party finishing last.

Commenting Alba Party’s Chris McEleny said:

“We can take lots of positives out of this result: we finished ahead of Reform who have daily coverage beamed into our homes from South of the border; the result we achieved today wasn’t an electoral breakthrough but it has well and truly put us on the field ahead of the 2026 election. Today’s result, if replicated across the West of Scotland would see not one, but two members of the Scottish Parliament elected.

“In recent months Alba Party has doubled our vote in Dundee, trebled it in Perth and now quadrupled it in Inverclyde!"
