Disappointment Over Delays and Rising Costs as Transport Infrastructure Struggles

ALBA Transport Working Group has expressed serious concern over continued delays and escalating costs associated with the announcement of the Glen Rosa ferry delay, warning of the mounting impact on Scotland’s transport infrastructure and affected communities.

Iain Cameron from the Working Group said:

"This was the wrong ship not the wrong yard. Its design and procurement to blame not construction. Offers were made to provide the design for catamarans yet were rejected to persist with an overpriced and unknown LNG/MDO model.

"CMAL should be abolished, and communities and unions listened to. It's the right yard but the wrong ships.

"The delay not only undermines confidence in public infrastructure planning, but also risks long-term consequences for regional connectivity, economic development, and public trust."
