Leading Glasgow Lawyer Joins ALBA Party

Leading Glasgow Solicitor Advocate, Mike Dailly, has announced that he has joined the ALBA Party. Dailly is currently the principal Solicitor at the Govan Law Centre.

Commenting after joining the Party, Mike Dailly said:

“I’m was honoured to attend the memorial of Alex Salmond on Saturday in Edinburgh. Having reflected on the titan that Alex Salmond was, and his contribution to Scottish society, I have decided to do what I can to ensure his legacy continues.

“It’s clear that Scottish Politics requires a radical shake up. Over recent years, the SNP have lost their way on independence and on running the shop at Holyrood.

“It is clear to me that ALBA are pulling together a team of serious people who are capable of restoring some much needed competence in the Scottish Parliament. This is needed now more than ever to advance the cause of Scottish Independence”

Commenting, ALBA Party Acting Leader, Kenny MacAskill said:

“Mike is a welcomed and terrific addition to the ALBA Party. His record on a variety of Social Justice campaigns, from the abolition of warrant sales to tackling homelessness, as well as the work he does in his capacity at Govan Law centre, speaks for itself.

“He was instrumental, alongside Alex Salmond, in bringing forward the legal challenge against both the UK and Scottish Governments over the cut to winter fuel payments.

“I am sure his experience will help to advance the party as we look towards the 2026 Scottish Parliament election. The ALBA Party is rising.”
