Statement on Maggie Chapman Surviving a 'Vote of No Confidence'

ALBA Party Depute Leader's response to Maggie Chapman surviving vote to remove her from the Equalities, Human Rights and Civil Justice Committee: 

"Ms Chapman’s reckless and dangerous conduct in the wake of the Supreme Court judgement has been rightly criticised by Scotland’s legal profession. Her disrespect of the court undermined the independence of the judiciary and was so obviously deserving of sanction.

"That she chose to revert to the default slurs of the increasingly discredited trans lobby was bad enough, but for a committee of the Scottish Parliament to be seen to endorse this behaviour brings shame on Scottish political life. How can the committee claim any credibility when they have demonstrated how clueless they are on matters of law and equality."
