“Scotland must pick up the gauntlet” says Salmond
“Scotland needs to pick up the gauntlet thrown down by the British establishment. The London Supreme Court judge us to be a second class nation with no right of self determination. We need a political response to prove them wrong”
Mr Salmond made the comments on Friday at a public meeting in Uphall to publicise the “Wee ALBA Book - Scotland’s new case for independence”
The former First Minister said:
“Going cap in hand to London was a cardinal blunder by the Scottish Government. However the extremity of the ruling has provoked outrage in Scotland and created a political opportunity.
“The gantlet has been thrown down by the establishment and Scots need to pick it up if we are to bend Westminster to the democratic will of Scotland”
