ALBA Reaction: MSPs vote to Reject Ash Regan's Unbuyable Bill
Commenting following the Scottish Parliament voting to reject Ash Regan's “unbuyable” bill, ALBA Party interim chair and women’s convener Debbie Ewen has said:
“The Scottish Government’s track record on women’s rights has suffered yet another serious blow this evening.
“It is deeply disappointing that they, along with the support of the Greens, have chosen to kill Ash Regan’s Unbuyable Bill.
“This legislation would have taken meaningful steps to reduce harm and exploitation faced by some of the most vulnerable women in our society.
“Ash Regan deserves enormous credit for her unwavering commitment to protecting and advancing women’s rights in Scotland.”
