Replacing the Unfair Council Tax

About the event

ALBA are fully committed to scrapping the unfair Council Tax and this will feature prominently in the election campaign next year. However, we need to put forward a suitable replacement to help fund council services across Scotland. 

That is why we are holding a meeting online this Monday to look at some of the alternatives. Cllr Andy Doig from Renfrewshire Council will outline the case for a Land Value Tax and former MSP Tommy Sheridan will outline the case for a Scottish Service Tax. 

We will also be joined by Cllr Chris Cullen who has been instrumental in shaping our policy to date.
