SALMOND ROUNDS ON “HEARTLESS LABOUR” AND “COWARDLY SNP”, THE TWEEDLEDUM AND TWEEDLEDEE BEHIND AXING WINTER PAYMENTS

Former First Minister, Alex Salmond, has accused the Westminster and Holyrood governments of being “jointly and severally liable” for freezing pensioners this coming winter.

He said;

“Labour are heartless. Cutting the pensioner winter heating is a savage act - an exercise in macho politics which has boomeranged badly. It is a completely unnecessary attack on vulnerable people which will hit Scots pensioners first and foremost. As the dissent at their current Conference shows, they will pay a heavy political price for their treachery.

“However if Labour are heartless then the SNP are gutless. Ten years ago, as First Minister, when faced with a similar callous attack on living standards from the Tories “bedroom tax”,  I faced down Westminster and reversed it in Scotland. That is exactly why we have a Scottish Parliament. However the current SNP government are now completely devoid of the political will required to take on Westminster.

"These two parties are the Tweedledum and Tweedledee of Scottish politics, each as useless as the other, and each as guilty.”
