SALMOND ROUNDS ON STARMER OVER BANGLADESHI “INSULTS”
Former First Minister, Alex Salmond, has rounded on Sir Keir Starmer over his “casual insulting of the Bangladeshi community”
The Starmer remarks, which came in a debate hosted by The Sun newspaper earlier this week, have already provoked the resignation of Stepney Green Councillor Sabina Akhtar, deputy leader of Tower Hamlets Labour group, who said Sir Keir had insulted "my Bangladeshi identity".
Salmond, now leader of Scotland’s ALBA Party said
“Starmer has become embroiled in a messy mud wrestling match with the Tories on who will be tougher on immigration. That is what led to this insulting remark about Bangladesh people not being deported.
"He should think shame on himself. In Scotland we try to judge communities on the scale of their contribution to society not on the colour of their skin. That is why Scots Bangladeshis are so respected”
