Hanvey Accuses Labour of Putting "warfare before welfare"

Newly elected ALBA Depute Leader, Neale Hanvey, used his key note speech at the ALBA Party Annual Conference to slam the Labour Government for their recent cuts to welfare payments, accusing the Party of putting “warfare before welfare”
Speaking to ALBA members assembled in Edinburgh he said:
“Many referred to the Tory Party as the Nasty Party, but Labour are putting warfare before welfare. This will come to define Starmer’s Government, and it should haunt them all forever.
“Their own government analysis estimates that 250,000 people will be thrust into poverty, including 50,000 additional children and the average PIP claimant will be £4,500 worse off per year. Labour have no money for vulnerable people, but have billions for war and bombs.
“Sir Keir Starmer has embraced Tory policy lock stock and two smoking tank barrels and by default so have his Scottish branch officers.
“Just like Trump they are stripping away public services, targeting the most vulnerable people in society by slashing £5 billion from disability support… This tells you everything you need to know about who Sir Keir Starmer is."
He also used his keynote speech to take aim at Nigel Farage and Reform UK who he accused of wanting to “tear down the NHS”.
Finishing his speech by saying, “the only reform Scotland needs is independence.”
The ALBA conference in Edinburgh continues tomorrow.
